WORKSHOPS. For 45 churches their pastors and members of their leadership teams and boards we provide 72 hours of in-class training. This normally takes place in the fellowship hall of a church that is centrally located for 6-8 churches in the program--each church has 7-8 people attending. This fiscal year we lead five workshops 2-day workshops in the fall and 5 in the spring. The first workshop fall covered a range of topics related to leadership and mission focus. The second workshop helped churches become more invitational. The churches identify initiatives to increase their effectiveness which they further develop and launch over the following months with their coach see below. The workshops are offered at no cost due to the generosity of our donors.

Each week the pastors and at their discretion other church leaders receive at least one hour of coaching from a Damascus Road Coach. coaches are current or retired pastors former seminary professors therapists and Christian business leaders. Our Coaches provide emotional and spiritual support and guide pastors as they with their teams make decisions about direction and develop and launch initiatives related to evangelism discipleship Christian vocation impact in the community and throughout the world. This year our coaches logged over 5000 hours of coaching not including the time spent developing and delivering workshop content.

Financial support for launching new initiatives. Each of the 44 churches we worked with this year launched new programs and initiatives for example: a womens center daycare mothers support groups counseling services programs for the homeless new foreign missions initiatives and efforts to strengthen existing programs. Some of these required adding new staff or other start-up costs that had not been budgeted. This year due to the generosity of our donors on a case by case basis we provided contributions to the churches that allowed them to launch these programs without delay. The Board is evaluating the effectiveness of this program and will determine whether to continue it in future years All contributions ranged between $2500-$4000.
