Nevada Coalition for Psychedelic Medicines

Legislative Advocacy & Policy Reform:NCPM advocates for legislation and policy reforms that expand access to psychedelic-assisted therapies, particularly for veterans, first responders, and others with treatment-resistant conditions. In 2024, we engaged directly with Nevada legislators, testified at hearings, coordinated with national advocacy partners, and organized public awareness efforts to support safe and regulated access to psychedelic therapies.(Continued on Schedule O)Key accomplishments include:- Meeting with Nevada state senators and assembly members to advance psychedelic therapy legislation.- Providing policy recommendations in collaboration with national partners including veteran and law enforcement non-profits. - Building bipartisan support and educating policymakers on the therapeutic potential and public health benefits of psychedelic-assisted therapy.In 2024, NCPM leadership also served on the Nevada Psychedelic Medicines Working Group, established under SB242 (passed in 2023 with NCPM's support). Through this role and sustained interim advocacy, NCPM helped shape key policy recommendations that led to the introduction of two major bills in 2025: SJR10, a resolution urging Congress to reschedule certain psychedelics, allocate funding for research, and expand access to therapy, and AB378, a pilot program providing regulated access to psilocybin therapy for veterans and former first responders. SJR10 passed with bipartisan support, with 27 legislators signing on as sponsors or co-sponsors; AB378 was similarly backed by 24 bipartisan supporters. Throughout the year, NCPM remained committed to its mission to advance safe, equitable, and science-informed psychedelic policy in Nevada.
