RESCUE- SIX DAYS PER WEEK, DRIVERS FROM OUR CADRE OF VOLUNTEERS COLLECT FOOD FROM LOCAL SUPERMARKETS, RESTAURANTS, FARMS, CATERERS, AND BAKERIES, AND DELIVER TO MORE THAN 65 LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS, 32 AFFILIATE ORGANIZATIONS, AND 41 INFORMAL NETWORKS, INCLUDING FOOD PANTRIES, COMMUNITY MEAL PROGRAMS, AFTER SCHOOL CENTERS, SHELTERS, AND MORE. THESE ORGANIZATIONS ARE ACROSS HAMPDEN, HAMPSHIRE, AND FRANKLIN COUNTIES OF WESTERN MA. IN 2025, OUR REFRIGERATED VAN AND BOX TRUCK AND VOLUNTEER CARS DELIVERED OVER 987,775 POUNDS OF FOOD FROM OVER 100 FOOD DONORS, INCLUDING FARMS, TO OVER 70 PARTNER AGENCIES, 40 AFFILIATE AGENCIES AND 50 INFORMAL NETWORKS. 2026 GOAL: SUSTAIN AND INCREASE OUR DELIVERIES TO MEET THE NEED AND CONSIDER A DEDICATED GLEANING VEHICLE TO ALLOW FOR CURRENT VEHICLES FOR TARGETED RESCUE OPERATIONS

GLEAN- GLEANING IS THE PRACTICE OF COLLECTING GRAIN OR PRODUCE AFTER HARVEST. 2025 SAW A DRAMATIC INCREASE IN THE GLEANING PROGRAM. WE HAD OVER 100 GLEANS, ADDED OVER 200 NEW VOLUNTEERS, AND TOGETHER WE HARVESTED OVER 116,000 POUNDS OF PRODUCE, A 131% INCREASE OVER 2024. OUR 2026 GOAL- SUSTAIN OUR GLEANING OPERATIONS, ESPECIALLY THROUGH LOSS OF FEDERAL FUNDING, SUPPORT LOCAL FARMERS, AND EXPAND THE RECIPIENT PARTNERS THROUGH GREATER DISTRIBUTION IN FURTHER GEOGRAPHICAL AREAS AND PURCHASING A DEDICATED GLEANING VEHICLE TO BETTER SERVE THE COMMUNITY.
