Horsemans Harvest Neighborhood Pantry is a volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to addressing food insecurity in Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown New York. We offer free nutritious groceries to households in need through monthly distributions. In 2024 we served over 400 registered households assisting more than 1,400 individuals. Our food primarily comes from Feeding Westchester which provided us with over 122,000 pounds of food equivalent to 100,000 meals in 2024. We also purchase fresh produce from a wholesale distributor ensuring culturally relevant pantry items and fresh fruits and vegetables for our diverse clientele. Operating from a repurposed classroom in a church-owned former school building we utilize adjoining hallways for efficient client-choice model food distribution. Our volunteer team has expanded to over 70 individuals who assist in packing organizing and distributing food year-round. Beyond food distribution we supply clients with diapers personal hygiene products second-hand clothing and household items. We engage them through surveys and registration updates to tailor our services to evolving community needs. Additionally we secure grant funding and community donations to sustain and enhance our programs.
