HEARTLAND PROVIDES LOST-AND-FOUND SERVICES, ADOPTIONS, AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH TO SUPPORT HOMELESS PETS AND RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP. IN 2025, WE SERVED 2,047 ANIMALS. THROUGH OUR ADOPTION PROGRAM, 1,311 PETS (1,245 UNIQUE) FOUND LOVING HOMES, WHILE 331 PETS (300 UNIQUE) WERE REUNITED WITH THEIR OWNERS. EIGHT ANIMALS WERE TRANSFERRED TO LOCAL ADOPTION PARTNERS, AND 93% OF ALL PETS THAT ENTERED OUR DOORS WERE SAVED. AVERAGE LENGTH OF STAY WAS 27 DAYS FOR DOGS AND 30 DAYS FOR CATS. OUR PAWSITIVE CARE CLINIC ALSO PROVIDED LOW-COST BASIC CARE TO 196 PETS (169 UNIQUE), HELPING KEEP COMMUNITY PETS HEALTHY. HEARTLAND ALSO EDUCATES YOUTH AND THE PUBLIC ON HUMANE ANIMAL CARE, BITE PREVENTION, AND RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP, FOSTERING EMPATHY, COMPASSION, AND VOLUNTEERISM IN OUR COMMUNITY.
