Mission

ST. ANDREW LEGAL CLINIC PROVIDES LEGAL SERVICES FOR LOW-INCOME PEOPLE WITH FAMILY LAW NEEDS. THE CLINIC BELIEVES THAT ALL PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE ACCESS TO LEGAL SERVICES WHEN THEY NEED THEM, REGARDLESS OF THEIR INCOME. IN THE AREA OF FAMILY LAW, THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE UNABLE TO OBTAIN FREE SERVICES, AND UNABLE TO HIRE A PRIVATE ATTORNEY AT MARKET RATES; THE CLINIC SEEKS TO PROVIDE LEGAL SERVICES TO THOSE PEOPLE. THE CLINIC ALSO BELIEVES THAT OUR SOCIETY IS SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED WHEN PEOPLE ARE ABLE TO OBTAIN LEGAL REPRESENTATION ON FAMILY LAW ISSUES WHEN THEY NEED IT, AND THAT ALL PEOPLE SHOULD PAY SOMETHING FOR THE LEGAL SERVICES THEY RECEIVE ON A SLIDING SCALE BASED ON THE PERSON'S RESOURCES. THIS PRESERVES THE DIGNITY OF THE CLIENT AND PROMOTES THE VALUE OF THE SERVICES PROVIDED. THE CLINIC IS A COMMUNITY-BASED, CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION THAT IS DRIVEN BY COMPASSION AND SPIRITUAL MOTIVATION TO HELP PEOPLE IN NEED.
