THE YOUTH SYMPHONY OF SOUTHERN OREGON (YSSO) DELIVERS TRAINING UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF PROFESSIONAL CONDUCTOR AND PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS, PRESENTS PERFORMANCES FOR THE COMMUNITY, AND FOSTERS LIFELONG APPRECIATION OF CLASSICAL MUSIC AND THE ARTS. THE YSSO OFFERS ACCESS TO HIGH-LEVEL MUSIC EDUCATION AND PERFORMANCES; DEVELOPS MUSIC TECHNIQUE, AS WELL AS INTERPRETIVE AND ENSEMBLE-PLAYING SKILLS; CULTIVATES TEAMWORK, DISCIPLINE, EMPATHY, SOCIAL COHESION; WORKS WITH PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS, EDUCATORS, AND CULTURAL NETWORKS; SUPPLEMENTS SCHOOL MUSIC PROGRAMS; DEVELOPS AUDIENCES; AND IMPROVES THE QUALITY LIFE IN COMMUNITIES.
