This year the Foundation funded the following:Music Licenses for the Museum to allow them to have regular events i.e. Under Klamath Skies. These were free community events that included music and arts with up to 300+ in attendance. Total cost $2,131.33. The Foundation approved payment of $18,000.00 for new carpet in the main entrance and library. We are waiting for the invoice to disburse the funds. The Foundations Klamath County Historical Society Committee sponsored monthly programs that are free to the community. These included Water Guzzlers for wild game, Prohibition in Klamath County, Klamath County Red Light District and Mitchel Monument. Total cost $961.87 The major event this year for the Foundation was the consolidation of the Klamath County Museum Advisory Board, Klamath County Historical Society and the Klamath County Museum Foundation. This process ending up as our main focus during the year. In addition, long time Museum Director Todd Kepple retired and Ashley Affleck- Johnson was hired as his replacement. Ashley is doing a good job getting her feet on the ground but has not yet tackled capital projects that the Foundation typically funds. It is hoped that this next year will be more productive in this regard. It is noted that at our August meeting we will be considering a $50k+ paint/improvement project for the Baldwin Hotel Museum.
