SINCE 1997, GREEN EMPOWERMENT (GE) HAS WORKED WITH IN-COUNTRY PARTNERS AROUND THE WORLD TO IMPLEMENT CLEAN WATER AND ENERGY PROJECTS. GE COLLABORATES WITH INDIGENOUS PEOPLES, RURAL COMMUNITIES, AND LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS IN 13 COUNTRIES TO DEVELOP SUSTAINABLE PROJECTS THAT IMPROVE HEALTH OUTCOMES, BUILD CLIMATE CHANGE RESILIENCE, ADVANCE GENDER EQUITY, AND LIFT FAMILIES OUT OF POVERTY. IN 2024 ALONE, WE COMPLETED PROJECTS IN 105 COMMUNITIES WORLDWIDE. LATIN AMERICA IN LATIN AMERICA, WE COMPLETED 31 PROJECTS, SERVING OVER 19,000 BENEFICIARIES. PROJECTS INCLUDED SOLAR-POWERED AND GRAVITY-FED WATER SYSTEMS IN PERU, NICARAGUA, AND BOLIVIA, SANITATION INFRASTRUCTURE IN RURAL WASLALA, NICARAGUA, AND COMMUNITY-LED WATER MANAGEMENT IMPROVEMENTS IN COLOMBIA AND ECUADOR. IN PERU ALONE, THREE LARGE-SCALE POTABLE WATER SYSTEMS BENEFITED 8,900 PEOPLE, WHILE IN COLOMBIA, A TREATMENT PLANT SERVED 3,000 PEOPLE AND STRENGTHENED LOCAL GOVERNANCE. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, WE CONTINUED TO PROMOTE INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT THROUGH A LATIN AMERICA REGIONAL GENDER AND WASH INITIATIVE, PILOTING NEW TOOLS IN FOUR COUNTRIES AND PREPARING FOR A 2025 ROLLOUT OF AN UPDATED GENDER EQUITY AND SOCIAL INCLUSION (GESI) GUIDE. SOUTHEAST ASIA IN SOUTHEAST ASIA, TWO PROJECTS WERE COMPLETED, REACHING 520 INDIVIDUALS IN REMOTE COMMUNITIES. THESE EFFORTS WERE PART OF THE BROADER SABAH RE2 ROADMAP IN MALAYSIA, WHERE WE LAUNCHED ENERGY ACCESS PILOTS, ADVANCED SMART GRID MONITORING, AND ENGAGED IN NATIONAL POLICY DISCUSSIONS AT COP29. IN ADDITION, OUR PARTNERS HELPED US TO EXPAND OUR R&D CAPACITY THROUGH TRAINING AND COLLABORATIVE TECHNOLOGY UPGRADES. AFRICA IN AFRICA, WE COMPLETED TWO PROJECTS, SUPPORTING 640 BENEFICIARIES. THIS INCLUDED SOLAR-POWERED HEALTHCARE ELECTRIFICATION AND PRODUCTIVE ENERGY INITIATIVES IN UGANDA AND TANZANIA. WE ALSO STRENGTHENED COMMUNITY WATER SYSTEMS AND CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT OF TOOLS AND STRATEGIES TO IMPROVE THE SUSTAINABILITY OF HEALTH FACILITY ELECTRIFICATION. FUNDRAISING GREEN EMPOWERMENT ALSO INCREASED VISIBILITY THROUGH OUR FUNDRAISING EVENTS AND FILM SCREENINGS, STRENGTHENED ENGAGEMENT WITH OUR SUPPORTERS, AND MAINTAINED A CULTURE OF REFLECTION AND STRATEGIC ADAPTATION. IN TOTAL, THESE ACCOMPLISHMENTS REFLECT A POWERFUL BLEND OF LOCAL LEADERSHIP, INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION, AND COMMUNITY RESILIENCE.
