The nora chipaumire nhereraHUB is a female-run cultural space in Zimbabwe offering creative people a safe and vibrant place to explore aesthetic processes of thinking accessed with and through the body. Finding intellectual space within individual and collective movement, the HUB supports creative practice as a form of communal ritual and critical inquiry. Founded in 2022, it provides access to residency space, a sound studio, a growing library archive, and land-based practices like gardening and traditional cooking. Each year, the HUB welcomes 3?6 resident researchers and guests. In 2024, these included Luis Alba Rincon, Haman Mpadire, Lara Barzon.

DAMBUDZO is a new anti-genre work by nora chipaumire exploring colonial legacies and the revolutionary potential of performance. Combining sound, painting, sculpture, and embodied performance, it takes audiences through an immersive experience of resistance and awakening. It premiered in Vienna in 2024 and will tour the U.S. and Europe through 2025. The work features a cast of eight performers and is staged in a shabini?a reimagined bar space of political and social gathering. DAMBUDZO is a commission of Wiener Festwochen and Festival d?Automne ? Paris, produced by nora chipaumire inc. and developed in residency with Callie?s in Berlin, Germany. It is funded by the Visual Arts Project Fund of the Goethe-Institut. nora chipaumire inc. is supported by the Mellon Foundation

She was a guest speaker at Performance Space New York during Bintou Demb?l??s Palabre/s en mode marron convening, and led workshops at ?cole des Sables in Dakar and with Aerowaves/Moving Borders in Dublin. She also began developing her next major work, acontinua ? an obituary, a manual for a life lived chasing LIFE, which is set to premiere at MITsp in Brazil in 2025. In December 2024, she was invited to speak about the nhereraHUB at Southnord, a webinar series spotlighting arts spaces across the African continent, offering a platform for exchange on local creative ecosystems
