Educating and Training Advocates - Headache on the Hill The Headache Alliance prioritized the education and training of advocates through the Headache on the Hill program, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to advocate for improved care for headache disorders patients. Key educational achievements include: oEducated approximately 300 advocates from all 50 states on how to effectively share personal headache stories, understand the legislative process and key issues related to headache disorders, empowering them to become informed, confident advocates. oDeveloped and delivered a comprehensive educational curriculum that covered the legislative process, advocacy best practices, media engagement strategies, and the importance of federal research funding for headache disorders. oFacilitated community-building and networking opportunities during the in-person Headache on the Hill event, fostering connections and community among advocates and encouraging collaborative efforts and mutual support. oProvided a self-care yoga program that addressed the physical and emotional challenges of advocacy, equipping participants with strategies to manage stress and maintain well-being. oLaunched a scholarship program to enhance educational access to Headache on the Hill for historically marginalized communities, ensuring that advocates from diverse backgrounds could participate and benefit from the programs educational opportunities. oEstablished an affinity group for BIPOC participants, creating an inclusive environment for advocates of color to share experiences, receive support, and strengthen their advocacy efforts within the Headache on the Hill program.
