Water Infrastructure: The Environmental Policy Innovation Center seeks to advance funding policies and projects that provide equitable access to safe, reliable, and affordable water for US communities and nature to thrive. We believe that America can replace all of the lead water pipes in this country in ten years. Our staff also provide project management support and connect cities and water utilities with technical and community experts to improve water, wastewater, and stormwater management services and to develop applications for state and federal funding or loans. We assist more than three dozen communities in the work of improving, managing, or operating drinking water, wastewater, or stormwater infrastructure.

Restoration: We work on federal- and state-level contracting reform that makes it easier for government to define what outcomes they want to purchase and pave the way for efficient delivery of those outcomes. Contracting reform and the development of responsible environmental credit markets can help attract private sector investment in public climate, water, and environmental goals. We are informing key stakeholders about how to make ecological restoration happen faster, cheaper, and more efficiently. We work to expand and build natural resource mitigation efforts into Tribal nations and create opportunities for compensatory mitigation policies for ecological restoration on Tribal lands for Tribal trust resources.

Technology: We support initiatives to empower community engagement and use of best-available data to overcome environmental justice issues. EPIC is championing the Digital Service for the Planet initiative that would help build the partnerships and savvy teams within government necessary to accelerate progress on climate and environmental goals. We collaborate with other organizations on strategies and resources to help accelerate permitting innovation.
