Through ARCOs Book Access Program we proudly donated 4,829 books to the community helping expand access to reading materials for individuals and families of all ages. These books were distributed through programming associated with ARCOs outreach initiatives in identified book deserts and to members of the community who expressed a desire to connect with books ensuring they reached readers who need them most. This effort reflects our ongoing commitment to removing barriers to books that celebrate diverse perspectives and to fostering access to inclusive stories for readers of all ages and backgrounds.

Through our Third Spaces program our book clubs author events Community Conversations and partnerships with local literature festivals engaged more than 8,000 people in meaningful literary experiences. By collaborating with community leaders and community-centered organizations we activated inclusive spaces where individuals could connect with books engage directly with authors and participate in thoughtful dialogue with one another. These gatherings fostered an open exchange of ideas strengthened relationships and cultivated a deeper sense of belonging and community.

Our community story times part of our Positive Reading Experiences initiative help plant the seed for a lifelong positive bond with books by creating joyful shared moments around reading. Through engaging read-alouds and interactive activities children and families experience how stories can spark imagination build curiosity and strengthen connections with one another. By modeling expressive reading and highlighting books that reflect diverse voices and experiences we demonstrate how shared stories can shape a childs interest in reading and support families in building meaningful reading routines at home. To expand our impact we partnered with community organizations and other nonprofits to bring this programming across nine zip codes located within identified book deserts ensuring greater access to meaningful literary experiences. Designed to promote literacy and foster a genuine love of reading Positive Reading Experiences creates welcoming spaces where individuals can connect with books connect with each other and begin building a strong lasting reading culture within their community.
