IN 2024, JUSTICE NECESSARY, ALONGSIDE LEGISLATIVE PARTNERS AND STAKEHOLDERS, HELPED INTRODUCE AND PASS HB24-1164, THE 'FREE PERIOD PRODUCTS TO STUDENTS' LAW IN COLORADO. FOLLOWING THE LAW'S PASSAGE, JUSTICE NECESSARY ASSEMBLED A TEAM OF EXPERTS AND LAUNCHED A DEDICATED IMPLEMENTATION WEBSITE TO SUPPORT SCHOOLS IN PREPARING FOR COMPLIANCE.TO IDENTIFY GAPS IN ACCESS AND HELP INFORM STATEWIDE DISTRIBUTION STRATEGIES, JUSTICE NECESSARY CONDUCTED THREE COMMUNITY NEEDS ASSESSMENTS ACROSS COLORADO, WHICH THE ORGANIZATION CLASSIFIES AS DIRECT PROGRAM ACTIVITY.IN 2024, JUSTICE NECESSARY DISTRIBUTED A TOTAL OF 1,150,063 HYGIENE PRODUCTS STATEWIDE, INCLUDING 921,536 MENSTRUAL PRODUCTS, 152,731 HYGIENE ITEMS, AND 75,796 DIAPERS AND WIPES, HELPING ENSURE STUDENTS AND FAMILIES ACROSS COLORADO HAD ACCESS TO ESSENTIAL SUPPLIES WITH DIGNITY.
