Project H.E.R.: This program continued to provide free health services (Help, Enlightenment, and Resources) in Benton, Linn and Lincoln counties of Oregon. The Navigator program provides awareness, education and support for patients from the time of cancer diagnosis through survivorship, with the navigator team, which consists of a nurse navigator and cancer survivors who mentor patients during their cancer journey. During 2024 Project H.E.R. provided free resources and guidance to 200 newly diagnosed patients, hosted 3 monthly cancer support groups (for breast cancer, blood cancer and gynecological cancer patients), provided house cleaning services for 16 patients (totaling $3,240) and emergency financial assistance grants totaling $10,797 (ranging from $105 to $1,000 each) paid directly to vendors for 22 patients to provide assistance with payments for rent, mortgage, car loans and repairs, medical expenses, insurance, and utilities. In addition, $10,000 of gas and grocery cards were purchased and distributed to 120 patients. The Cook for Cancer program paid $20,285 for 864 meals (72 meals per month for about 20 families) for families of local cancer patients who were undergoing chemotherapy treatments of all types of cancer diagnoses, oncology and hematology. In addition to $47,675 of cash expenditures, an additional $65,165 of donated services, meals and facilities were received in 2024 for Project H.E.R. programs.

Health Education Scholarships: Scholarships totaling $17,400, ranging from $500 to $2,500 each, were awarded during 2024 to 12 college and high school students who are pursuing careers as doctors, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, physical therapists, phlebotomists, and other medical professionals.
