Mission

The San Carlos Chamber of Commerce is an association of businesses combining their efforts to ensure the economic vitality of the community. The Chamber works continuously with new and existing businesses to help them succeed. It works closely with the City of San Carlos to make sure that San Carlos is a quality place in which to live and do business. Its focus is Economic Development and it is a founding member of the Economic Development Partnership, a group of associations working to better the business climate in San Carlos. In addition to the activities carried on by its directors and committee members, the Chamber is Information Central for visitors, new residents, potential businesses and the community. The office provides a wealth of information on San Carlos, its amenities and the surrounding area.

The San Carlos, CA Chamber of Commerce has over 600 members.We publish the following:* A Monthly Electronic Newsletter, "San Carlos Business" keeps our members informed about community activities, government affairs, and introduces new business members to the community. Our newsletter is now also available online.* A Business Directory that promotes our member local businesses. A web version is available online: www.sancarloschamber.org A print version is published every other year.

Exempt Purpose AchievementsMembership & Economic Development* Hosted Member Mixer and Business Spotlight events to showcase businesses and offer networking opportunities to our members.* Hosted a Home Improvement Marketplace to widen the networking opportunities and exposure for businesses to a larger marketing area. Open to the public and well attended.* Sponsored the San Carlos Art & Wine Faire with a booth to provide information about the Chamber and offer San Carlos Holiday Ornaments designed by a local artist.* Holiday campaign to keep holiday shopping local. Including a Santa House downtown, Santa's arrival at our airport and Hiller Aviation Museum which is our main tourist attraction. Mailed a brochure to all residents and businesses highlighting all local holiday activities.* Hosted a Farmers Market space downtown on Thursdays during summer and fall to bring residents into downtown. Titled: Hot Harvest Nights Farmers Market.* Hosted a State of the City breakfast to give businesses and residents an opportunity to hear from the City's new mayor and ask questions.* Hosted a Government Affairs Luncheon to give civic leaders and businesses an opportunity to dialogue with legislative officials.* Awarded ten scholarships to deserving San Carlos high school graduates who are entering fields of business or public service.* Hosted a summer and holiday Wine Stroll in downtown with 20 merchants pouring wines from nearby boutique win with lite bites to nibble. A community gathering to draw residents to downtown and visit the merchants and restaurants in the area.
