We are inspired by the healing ministry, as represented by the life of Jesus Christ, and believe we are called to live out our mission intentionally in the communities we serve. In the small towns, suburbs, and inner cities we serve, we continue our journey to provide quality healthcare until every person made in Gods image has experienced the best health today, hope for tomorrow, and Gods love that endures forever. The following story illustrates how Adventist Health Sonora is able to provide quality care for our community in an extraordinary way:In September 2023, Adventist Health Sonora partnered with the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, the wellness initiative Blue Zones Project Tuolumne County, the county Public Health Department, and individual volunteers from across the community to offer free health services. More than 200 volunteers including dental, vision, medical, massage therapy, and haircare professionals provided about $221,000 in free services and labor for 259 patients at the Life Hope Clinic. One grateful patient thanked the hosts for his wifes free root canal. It was a great experience and I'm very grateful for getting my fillings done, Tim and Susan Burkett wrote when they left the clinic. Very grateful to all of the volunteers and the doctor, and my wife is very grateful for the root canal and now she will be able to eat and drink without pain.Church staff shared numbers from the event that showed dental volunteers helped 136 dental patients receive a total of 63 fillings, 73 cleanings, 54 tooth extractions, and two root canals. Vision volunteers did 128 eye exams and patients received 125 pairs of prescription glasses. Medical volunteers did 25 cardiology exams, 25 electrocardiograms, and provided 95 patients with foot care. Volunteer professionals also did 61 haircuts and 108 massages.Altogether, 248 volunteers provided $140,425 in services and $80,660 in donated labor, for a total cost of $221,085 in free health care and other services provided.Great staff in all aspects of treatment, Evelyn Medeiro wrote. God bless all of you. Thank you. Some people who came to the clinic for services wrote their thanks in Spanish: Muchas Gracias.
