Citizenship and Imigration Services - SSCF has a long history of providing low-cost, high-quality immigration legal services to the community, serving multiple generations of families. Our licensed immigration attorney and Department of Justice accredited representatives assist clients with a range of affirmative immigration matters, including naturalization applications, green card renewals, DACA and Temporary Protected Status work permit renewals, family-based immigration cases, and U Visa applications for community members impacted by crime. In addition to individual casework, we offer volunteer-led citizenship application preparation classes and community education presentations on immigration rights and processes. This past year, we expanded our work through participation in Alameda County's rapid response network (ACILEP), providing legal information, referrals, and support to community members navigating the immigration system. Legal Services: 3,220 - Clients served with immigration info & referral; 310 - Consultations; 67 - Individual naturalization applications; 43 -Naturalization applications workshops; 66 - Family-based cases; 15 - U Visa applications filed; 8 - Law enforcement certifications (U status); 5 - U status permanent residence applications; 224 - Permanent residence renewals; and 31 - DACA renewals: Community Education & Outreach - 240 Students in classes; and 245 -Know Your Rights presentations.

Youth Programs (LIBRE Youth Services) - SSCF's LIBRE Youth Services program supports newcomer and immigrant youth ages 14-24, primary Spanish -speaking and Mam-speaking Mayan youth in Oakland. Services are provided Monday through Friday at our Fruitvale center, as well as on campus at Fremont High and Oakland High. Program activities include academic support, mentorship, leadership development, career exploration, college preparation, and civic engagement. Staff also provide case management, family support, financial literacy, and navigation of community resources. Cultural enrichment activities, including museum visits, outdoor experiences, and arts programming, are integrated throughout to strengthen newcomer engagement and sense of belonging. LIBRE staff reflect the cultural and lived experiences of participants, which supports deeper connection and more effective service delivery. Immigration-related needs are addressed as a core component of student and family well-being. Number of Youth Served: 92 - In-class and after-school support; 24 - Newcomer integration services; and 32 - College success initiatives.
