School based counseling and intervention services (SCIP) The primary goal of SCIP is to provide preventiona and mental health services to students of the SRVUSD in an effort to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for all students. Research has shown that the fostering of resilience in children and youth gives them the capability to deal with difficult situations. In providing a resource for children in their immediate environment, there is an opportunity to respond to their need for support and guidance and to help them develop the necessary skills to solve problems, cope with lifes challenges and to live more effective lives.
