Mission

Since 1978, ECC has grown from a small school age program on two school campuses, to one of the largest after school programs in Sonoma County. Quality programming has been the agency's guiding force in the growth of the organization. For over forty years, we have expanded programs to new school campuses, transitioned control of operation of programs that we originated to the school district, and assisted districts in modifying the type of after school programs offered.

Since 1978, the California Department of Education has helped ECC provide high quality child care to low-income families that may not have the opportunity to receive services within the community. ECC operates six centers and serve approximately 480 children daily, along with after school programming for children ages five to twelve. Since our beginning, part of the culture and focus of ECC has been to minimize our administrative expenses. This allows ECC to provide the highest quality child care directly to the community members we serve, and allows ECC to have a greater reach within the surrounding communities.

Nutritional food services are provided to children enrolled in ECC's program to provide healthy, nutritious and delicious meals to the children, while teaching the children about proper eating habits. Without our nutritional food program, many of our 480 children would not be able to receive the proper daily nutrition, which can hinder their chances of success in the future.
