If we engage marginalized communities, then we will increase our cultural humility as we learn from and with our participants. If we sustain a leaderful organization, then we will create a culture of shared power. We work toward collective liberation: everyone deserves to feel safe in their bodies, their homes, and their communities.

Healing and Stabilization Over 200 survivors of domestic violence completed Healing and Stabilization program intakes. Services included therapy, individual and group counseling, and immediate crisis support. This past year, we provided more than 150 hours of one-on-one support and over 85 hours of group counseling. Each survivor who completed an intake also received an intake interview that included referrals, safety planning, and supportive counseling.Following the expansion of our Latinx Program, staff provided services to over 15 Latinx survivors. Support included one-on-one peer counseling, client advocacy, support groups, leadership development, and community connection through Echando Palante. Some participants also received up to 12 sessions of complementary therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

OUTREACH/PREVENTIONIn addition to offering 40-Hour Domestic Violence Training programs for community members, W.O.M.A.N. Inc. partnered with various organizations, with a continued focus on the medical community. This year, we provided in-person training sessions to surgeons at UCSF, met with emergency room physicians, and trained nurse advocates to promote a meaningful, trauma-informed response for survivors accessing healthcare.
