The 2023/24 mainstage season brought audiences five fantastic shows: Kinky Boots, Cinderella Enchanted, Rent, and Head Over Heels, closing with the YouthStage Spotlight show, Mean Girls, serving over 25,000 patrons. We also ran a full year of educational programming serving 1600 kids. Berkeley Playhouse continued to ensure that diverse audiences were represented in our programming organization wide, through education scholarships and community outreach. We upheld our commitment to making live theater accessible to patrons who would be otherwise unable or unlikely to attend, providing a total of 642 seats to our Pay What You Can Performances during the 2023/24 season. Additionally, in our commitment to increase accessibility of our performances, we successfully piloted a live audio-description performance and pre-show haptic tour for blind and low vision patrons.
