Living Jazz delivers music and dance education programs that serve youth and the broader community through performance, education, and celebration. Its core program includes: (1) RootED (formerly the Living Jazz Childrens Project) provides free music and dance education to underserved Bay Area public schools. As of Spring 2025 Living Jazz served 21 school grades TK-12. (2) Summer Camps: Living Jazz provides Jam Camp West (Ages 15 to 115) and Jam Camp West (Ages 10-17). Each camp is a week of music and dance classes, Open Mics, Concerts, jam sessions, and intergenerational bonding. Both camps are held in the redwoods of Northern California. (3) In the Name of Love Musical Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Musical celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and presentation of the Oakland Citizen Humanitarian Award.
