Founded in 1985, KULARTS is the premier presenter of contemporary and tribal Pilipino arts in the United States. The mission of KULARTS is to inform and expand the understanding of American Pilipino culture through works that address contemporary issues in our community. We do this by nurturing the artistic development of Pilipino American artists, and preserving the spirit and integrity of ancient Pilipino art forms through research, education and documentation. Our programs include AGOS a youth & family centered programing of folkloric dance and music and sociopolitical knowledge building. Kularts also conducts a one-of-a-kind TribuTur a hands-on field study, custom-designed for participants to explore, discover, and draw empowerment from indigenous Pilipino cultures of Mindanao. During the trip, participants engage in meaningful interactions with tribal leaders, shamans & healers, and masters artists in their ancestral homes in Tawi-Tawi, Cotabato, and Basilan. In addition to these programs Kularts projects include Alleluia Panis Dance Theater Projects and performances this year included Antinganting and Burden of Proof.
