Josephine Community Library Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that exists to secure private philanthropic support for Josephine Community Library District which is not available through other support means. In 1987, concerned volunteers formed Josephine Community Library Foundation. Independent of the county government, this nonprofit foundation lets people donate for the direct benefit of local libraries. In 2017 Josephine Community Library District was formed with a vote of the local population, with a permanent, dedicated tax of assessed property value for those living within the library district boundaries but are limited to an operating budget. The Josephine Community Library Foundation raises funds for special projects. The organization is currently accumulating funds for major capital projects benefitting the communities it serves.
