THE EDUCATION FOUNDATION SUPPORTS STUDENTS THROUGH THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES: CAN DO FUND- IS A FUND ESTABLISHED SPECIFICALLY FOR STUDENTS WITH FINANCIAL NEED TO PARTICIPATE FULLY IN SCHOOL SPONSORED ACTIVITIES SCHOOL MEALS- PROVIDES MEALS AT NO COST TO STUDENTS WHO DO NOT QUALIFY FOR FEDERAL FREE MEALS BACK TO SCHOOL- PROVIDES SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO STUDENTS IN NEED EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES - PROVIDES THE GRANT OPPORTUNITIES FOR TEACHERS TO ACCESS FUNDING FOR CLASSROOM ENRICHMENT MATERIALS TO HELP THEM ENGAGE STUDENTS AND MEET LEARNING NEEDS. ALSO PROVIDES FUNDING TO SCHOOL SPONSORED CLUBS FOR ACTIVITIES AND COMPETITIONS. THE INTENT OF THESE PROGRAMS IS TO ENSURE ALL STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN A WELL- ROUNDED ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE, REGARDLESS OF FINANCIAL BARRIERS. EDUCATION IS A KEY TOOL TO HELP ALL STUDENTS REACH THEIR GREATEST POTENTIAL. NEARLY 40% OF STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE BCSD QUALIFY FOR THE FEDERAL FREE AND REDUCED LUNCH PROGRAM.
