We are well known for successfully creating and executing projects on San Francisco history, from rehabilitating and displaying an original refugee cottage for the 100th anniversary of the 1906 earthquake and fire to conceiving and co-organizing the free San Francisco History Days weekend at the Old Mint. In October 2021, Western Neighborhoods Project opened a temporary year-long exhibition in the historic Cliff House restaurant, showcasing a selection of art and artifacts purchased at auction. The exhibit featured historical holdings of the Hountalas family - the longtime proprietors of the iconic Cliff House restaurant, and historical photos, bathing suits from the Sutro Baths, vintage Cliff House souvenirs and archaeological remnants of the Sutro Heights statuary.
Annually Western Neighborhood Project hosts dozens of history walks, lectures, and events to make history fun an accessible.
