Education and Career Development - Education and career development for trainees and young investigators represents a high priority for the Society. To facilitate these activities, the Society has standing committees: Education Committee and the Committee for Career Development. In addition, the Committee for Equal Representation and Opportunity provides oversight for the Society's diversity and inclusion objectives. Together, these groups develop initiatives and programs to achieve the goal of providing trainees, young investigators, and others the opportunity to expand their knowledge within specific areas of basic, clinical, and translational research.

Scientific Journals, Interest Groups and Member Services The Society provides networking, journals, and other activities to help the integrative discipline of investigative pathology. The Society publishes two scientific journals. The American Journal of Pathology (AJP) is the leading global forum for reporting quality original research on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of disease and is the official journal of the American Society for Investigative Pathology (published by Elsevier, Inc). The Journal of Molecular Diagnostics (JMD) publishes high-quality original papers on scientific advances in the translation and validation of molecular discoveries in medicine into the clinical diagnostic setting. The Society also provides a number of Scientific Interest Groups (SIGs) and membership communities (such as Women in Pathology). These groups are formed around subsets of the membership that share a common research interest or goal (promotion of women in disease research). The Society provides for a variety of membership types to cater to individuals at all stages of career: regular, trainee, emeritus. The Society also provides membership options for individuals who fill a specific career niche: laboratory scientist, research scientist, science educator.
