THERE ARE SEVERAL SPECIALIZED SERVICE AREAS WITHIN THE OVERALL AUXILIARY ENTITY. THESE INCLUDE ACCESS AND THE AUXILIARY GENERAL ACCOUNT. CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O.THE MISSION OF ACCESS IS HELPING FAMILIES DEAL WITH THE CRISIS OF HOSPITALIZATION. ORIGINALLY ESTABLISHED TO SUPPORT FAMILIES OF BABIES AND CHILDREN IN THE NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (NICU). THIS INCLUDES EMERGENCY OVERNIGHT STAYS IN NEARBY HOTELS, SO FAMILIES LIVING FAR AWAY FROM THE HOSPITAL HAVE SUPPORTIVE PLACES TO STAY AND THEY CAN FOCUS ON THEIR LOVED ONES DURING HOSPITALIZATION.THE AUXILIARY GENERAL ACCOUNT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR RECORDING ALL OTHER CORE MEMBERSHIP AND BOARD OPERATIONS, INCLUDING ANNUAL DUES, PATIENT SUPPORT, MEMBERSHIP, AND LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS. THE GENERAL FUND PROVIDES FOR PATIENT AMENITIES THAT PROVIDE COMFORT TO THOSE SPENDING TIME OVERNIGHT IN THE HOSPITAL. UNDER THE AUXILIARY GENERAL FUND IS ALSO SUPPORT FOR CARDIAC CARE PILLOWS FOR THOSE THAT HAVE HAD OPEN CHEST SURGERY. THE PILLOWS PROVIDE COMFORT WHEN PATIENTS NEED TO COUGH OR SNEEZE.ADDITIONAL SERVICES INCLUDE FOOD IN FAMILY WAITING ROOMS AND EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES. FINANCIALLY DISADVANTAGED FAMILIES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR VOUCHERS FOR GAS, MEALS AND EMERGENCY HOTEL OVERNIGHTS.DURING 2024 THE AUXILIARY AND ACCESS HAD APPROXIMATELY 250 ACTIVE VOLUNTEERS WHO PROVIDED OVER 20,935 HOURS OF NON-CLINICAL SUPPORT TO PATIENTS, FAMILIES, AND VISITORS IN OVER SEVERAL SERVICE AREAS OF THE MAIN HOSPITAL AND IN THE MISSION OAKS FACILITY. ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS INCLUDE ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS, PATIENT AMENITIES, TOYS, AND GAMES.FOOD IS PROVIDED IN THE NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (NICU) PARENT ROOM. FAMILIES STRUGGLING FINANCIALLY MAY ALSO RECEIVE VOUCHERS FOR GAS, MEALS AND EMERGENCY OVERNIGHT HOTEL STAYS.
