BAKERSFIELD MEMORIAL HOSPITAL'S MISSION IS TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE HEALTH OF THE COMMUNITY THROUGH THE PROVISION OF QUALITY SERVICES DELIVERED IN A COMPASSIONATE AND COST EFFECTIVE MANNER. THE HOSPITAL HAS 385 BEDS AND SERVICED PATIENTS AS FOLLOWS: OUTPATIENT VISITS OF 131,850; EMERGENCY VISITS OF 98,602; INPATIENT AND OUTPATIENT OPERATING ROOM CASES OF 8,518; AND INPATIENT AND OUTPATIENT CARDIAC PROCEDURES OF 3,745. BMH HAS A 24-HOUR EMERGENCY ROOM AND PROVIDES SERVICES TO BENEFICIARIES OF THE MEDICARE PROGRAM AS WELL AS A WIDE RANGE OF COMMERCIALLY INSURED. BMH ALSO PROVIDES SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO PAY - SERVICES FOR WHICH BMH RECEIVES NO REIMBURSEMENT FROM ANY OUTSIDE SOURCE.INPATIENT SERVICES: ACUTE MEDICAL/SURGICAL CARE/PSYCHIATRIC; CANCER CENTER; CARDIOVASCULAR SURGERY; CARDIAC CATHETERIZATION LAB; PEDIATRIC ACUTE AND INTENSIVE CARE; NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE; EMERGENCY/QUICK CARE; INTENSIVE CARE; PHARMACY; SURGERY; SPEECH PATHOLOGY; SOCIAL SERVICES; RESPIRATORY CARE; PHYSICAL THERAPY; TRANSITIONAL CARE UNIT AND WOMEN AND INFANT CARE UNIT.OUTPATIENT SERVICES: AMBULATORY TREATMENT CENTER; CARDIAC REHABILITATION; CARDIOPULMONARY; DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING; LABORATORY; OUTPATIENT SURGERY CENTER; REHABILITATION SERVICES; AND WELLNESS/OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE.SUPPORT SERVICES: CHAPLAINCY PROGRAM; EDUCATIONAL SERVICES; HEALTH SCIENCES LIBRARY; AS WELL AS SUPPORT, TIME AND MONEY TO ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY.
