CFGC contracts with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health to provide a comprehensive array of mental health, supportive social services, and linkages to needed resources to children and adolescents displaying significant mental health symptoms. The Child and Family Guidance Center embraces a trauma-informed, family-strengthening philosophy aimed at helping clients become empowered, overcome challenges, and flourish within the community. The Center is committed to remaining responsive to the ever-changing needs of our families, developing innovative programs and training professional staff members to work in a community setting. Outcomes include: emotional/behavioral symptom reduction, improved social and adaptive functioning, family stability, improved school performance and behavior. Eligible clients must meet criteria outlined by the LACDMH.

CFGCs Non-Public School Program, known as Northpoint School serves children ages 12to 21 with significant emotional and behavioral challenges whose needs can not be met in a regular classroom setting. Northpoint combines academic instruction with abroad spectrum of specialized services that addresses each students needs. Theeducational staff utilize an interdisciplinary team approach to developindividualized programs for each student. Students either transition back to lessrestrictive school programs or graduate with a high school degree from Northpoint.
FIRFHA - First 5 - LA HFA Located in Antelope Valley the program helps children from prenatal to age five to be physically and mentally healthy.
