The Friends of Newport Theatre Arts Center have continuously produced live theatrical performances in our present location for over thirty years. We have been honored by the local media with awards for Best Production, Best Actor, Best Actress and Outstanding Theater Personnel many times. We have a contract with the City of Newport Beach for the non-exclusive right to use the City owned property for play productions and are the only live theater group so designated by the City. We were given a special award by the City for our outstanding service to the City and the community acting as the de facto theater for the City. We are financially secure and are well supported by donations and ticket sales including nearly 800 season ticket holders which represents approximately 50 % of our theater capacity for each production. We present six productions each season consisting of a mix of dramas, comedies, mysteries and musicals. The following represents the normal year and the COVID related year - Normal Year Plays Per Year 6 Productions per play/musical 15/19 Average Attendance 78 % of Capacity 86%
