Access Central Coast ("ACC") delivers core Independent Living services that empower individuals with disabilities to make informed choices, achieve their personal goals, and fully participate in community life. Access Central Coast provides person-centered services to individuals with all types of disabilities, with a focus on removing barriers to independence and community integration.ACCs services are guided by the philosophy of consumer direction, ensuring that individuals with disabilities lead their own service planning and decision-making. Staff with lived experience as people with disabilities offer peer-based support, mentorship, and training in skills that promote self-determination.Core services provided by Access Central Coast include: Independent Living Skills Training to support day-to-day tasks; Peer Support to foster mentorship and community among individuals with shared experiences; Information and Referral to connect consumers with local, regional, and statewide resources; Individual and Systems Advocacy to assist individuals in resolving service-related issues and to support improvements that affect daily living; Transition Services to support individuals moving from institutional settings to community-based living and to assist youth with disabilities transitioning to adult services and life.Access Central Coast's services are funded in part through Title VII, Part C of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended. These funds are provided directly by the federal government and administered through the California Department of Rehabilitation. Access Central Coast also occasionally receives Title VII, Part B grants, which support specific projects or outreach efforts identified in California's State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL). All programs are provided in accordance with applicable federal and state guidelines and funding requirements.
