DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SOLUTIONS IS THE ONLY AGENCY IN SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CA THAT PROVIDES EMERGENCY SHELTER AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO ALL SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE AND THEIR CHILDREN INCLUDING WOMEN, MEN AND LGBT POPULATIONS. TWO SHELTERS ARE OPERATED IN THE CITIES OF SANTA BARBARA, SANTA MARIA AND LOMPOC. DURING FY23-24, OUR TWO SHELTERS PROVIDED 587 INDIVIDUALS (ADULTS AND CHILDREN) WITH 45 DAY EMERGENCY SHELTER. 46 FAMILIES WERE TRANSITIONED TO SAFE HOUSING. OUR SHELTERS ALSO OPERATE FOUR CRISIS AND INFORMATION LINES WHICH ANSWERED 4,917 CALLS. OF THOSE CALLS, 521 WERE EMERGENCY CALLS FROM POLICE, EMERGENCY ROOMS AND MEDICAL OFFICES. DURING THIS PERIOD DVS PROVIDED A TOTAL OF 5,528 CRITICALLY NEEDED "SAFETY BED NIGHTS" TO THOSE INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR CHILDREN AT SEVERE RISK AND FLEEING THEIR HOMES DUE TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.
