FY2023-2024:We ushered in the new year with the addition of a Chief Medical Officer of Quality Care that will facilitate and build upon SIHCs new vision of zero harm and patient safety. In March, SIHC launched the private screening of our new documentary Everlasting Steps: The Path to Healing" in a big screen theater! This documentary was created to raise awareness for opioid and substance use in Native communities and was funded by the IHS COIPP grant, Award #H1H5IHS0025. The Boys & Girls Club AT&T Connected Learning Center. This provides enhances education for our youth. SIHC gave to the youth over 400 backpacks to the youth. We provided to the community the 26th Annual Native American Health and Wellness Conference, bringing together leaders and advocates to empower our community. During the Halloween season, we held our annual Trunk or Treat event which was a huge success, offering a safe and fun way for families to have some fun and gather resources. Our action-packed annual Winter Wonderland event had our largest turnout yet while bringing some holiday cheer to our community. We also had a joyous Elders Christmas Party and Native American Veterans Breakfast which were both heartwarming celebrations, honoring the wisdom and contributions of our elders and veterans. This year brought back optometry services that includes eye exams, glasses prescriptions, early prevention for overall eye health. The mobile unit called, ROAM, enhanced services with Starlink capabilities to support rural access to the internet.
