MEMBERSHIP IS COMPRISED OF PERSONS AND FIRMS ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN, ASSOCIATED WITH OR HAVING AN INTEREST IN, THE FURTHERANCE OF PERIODIC PAYMENT OF COMPENSATION ON ACCOUNT OF PERSONAL INJURIES AND OTHER CLAIMS UTILIZING PERIODIC PAYMENTS. THE ASSOCIATION WAS FORMED TO PROVIDE MEMBERS AND OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES OPPORTUNITIES FOR SELF-IMPROVEMENT, EDUCATION, DIALOGUE, AND ADVANCEMENT IN THE STRUCTURED SETTLEMENT PROFESSION.

THE HIGHEST GOAL AND RESPONSIBILITY OF THE NATIONAL STRUCTURED SETTLEMENTS TRADE ASSOCIATION IS THE ESTABLISHMENT AND PRESERVATION OF STRUCTURED SETTLEMENTS IN ORDER TO PROVIDE LONG-TERM FINANCIAL SECURITY TO PERSONAL INJURY CLAIMANTS AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH PERIODIC PAYMENT OF COMPENSATION. THE ASSOCIATION HAS ESTABLISHED THE NSSTA UNIVERSITY TO PROMOTE THE UTILIZATION OF PERIODIC PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS GENERALLY AS A TOOL FOR RESOLVING CLAIMS BY PROVIDING STRUCTURED SETTLEMENT INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS BY PROVIDING ASSOCIATION MEMBERS WITH THE HIGHEST QUALITY PROFESSIONAL EDUCATIONAL AND TRAINING PROGRAMS AT TWO INDUSTRY CONFERENCES EACH YEAR. THE NSSTA UNIVERSITY DEVELOPS AND MAINTAINS PROFESSIONAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR MEMBERS THAT PROVIDE IMPORTANT CONTINUING EDUCATION (CE) AND CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION (CLE) CREDITS AT THE NSSTA ANNUAL MEETING AND THE NSSTA FALL EDUCATIONAL MEETING. THE ASSOCIATION HAS ALSO DEVELOPED THE CERTIFIED STRUCTURED SETTLEMENT CONSULTANT PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION PROGRAM WHICH IS RECOGNIZED NATIONALLY AS THE STRUCTURED SETTLEMENT INDUSTRY PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE.
