Evergreen has entered into a granting agreement with an affiliate organization who conducts the missional work in China on behalf of Evergreen. EFFS' purpose is to assist Shanxi and other Chinese provinces by developing public benefit services for the common people, continuing the good works of Ye Yongqing ("Leaf Evergreen", i.e. Peter Torjesen), acknowledging God's gracious calling in our lives and reflecting the credibility of Christ. EFFS now fulfills this purpose through grants to affiliated entities. Grants to the affiliate organization continue to support the following activities: Providing medical assistance by training doctors and other health professionals and working to improve the level of medical service at the province's hospitals. Providing consulting services to groups such as government agencies, private enterprises, and community service organizations to facilitate the implementation of projects that will benefit the people of Shanxi. Providing English language training to provincial bureaus officials and professionals and to those with limited access such as rural English teachers and students. Providing development services to rural communities via agricultural projects, student scholarships, mobile libraries, etc.
