Assistance League of San Bernardino adopted the National Assistance League's Signature Program, Operation School Bell, in 1983. San Bernardino City School personnel identify two hundred under-resourced K-12 students enrolled in San Bernardino City Unified School District annually. All identified students are eligible to participate. The program provides new clothing, shoes and personal hygiene products for children wearing old, worn, ill-fitting, and or dirty clothing and shoes. Assistance League volunteers operate the program once a month at a San Bernardino store.
