Occupational Therapy Association of California communicates professional and Association information through a variety of communication formats including its digital newsletter (published six times per year), electronic memos such as OTAC News You Can Use, OTAC GAC Alerts, and OTAC Practice Notes (published as relevant or critical information is available), website updates, Facebook and more. Academia and research are integral to the occupational therapy scope of practice, quality of client care, and evidence-based practice and education. The Association supports a collaborative relationship between the occupational therapy's professional Association and academia and research as being imperative to the future of the profession.The Association recognizes and celebrates that OT/OTA students are the bright future of the profession and the Association. In support of its student members, the Association offers benefits that students find particularly valuable including the OTAC Student Leadership Committee and deep discounts to educational conferences.The Association's Annual Conference was held in Sacramento, California during October 2017. The Association offers many valuable benefits to occupational therapy practitioners. Among those benefits are: 1) Free billing consultation through Creative Billing Services. 2) Free participation in the Private Practice Network. 3) Free access to Practice Area Transition Guidelines as well as other publications. 4) Free practice consultations through the Practice, Ethics and Reimbursement Committee. 5) Free access to the OTAC online membership directory making networking easy and convenient. 6) Discounts to OTAC Annual Conference and Annual Spring Symposium
