LAW LIBRARY MICROFORM CONSORTIUM (LLMC) ACCOMPLISHES ITS MISSION THROUGH THE DIGITIZATION AND DISSEMINATION OF CONTENT ELECTRONICALLY THROUGH ITS DATABASE. LLMC PROVIDES GLOBAL ACCESS TO IMPORTANT LEGAL INFORMATION THAT WOULD OTHERWISE BE AVAILABLE TO A LIMITED NUMBER OF SELECT INDIVIDUALS IF THE CONTENT REMAINED IN PRINT FORMAT ONLY. LLMC REGULARLY PARTNERS WITH LIBRARIES TO DIGITIZE AND SAVE PRINT MATERIALS, ESPECIALLY AS HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS DECAY, LIBRARIES FACE SPACE LIMITATIONS, AND LIBRARY BUDGETS DECLINE. FOLLOWING DIGITIZATION, ALL OF THE TITLES ARE EXPERTLY CATALOGED, AND THE PHYSICAL BOOKS, MICROFICHE, AND MICROFILM ARE SENT TO SALT MINES FOR PERMANENT PRESERVATION. BY DIGITIZING AND PRESERVING THESE DOCUMENTS, LLMC ASSISTED SPACE ALLOCATION INITIATIVES FOR HUNDREDS OF LIBRARIES AND PROVIDED THE EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY ACCESS TO RARE AND SOMETIMES HARD-TO-FIND LEGAL DOCUMENTS. THROUGH THESE EFFORTS, LLMC HAS NEARLY 41,000 TITLES AND 100 MILLION IMAGES STORED AND AVAILABLE TO LAWYERS, SCHOLARS, AND OTHER RESEARCHERS AROUND THE WORLD. LLMC ADDITIONALLY PROVIDES FREE, PUBLIC OPEN ACCESS TO A GROWING COLLECTION OF MATERIALS, INCLUDING EARLY STATE RECORDS AND INDIGENOUS MATERIALS. LLMC'S MISSION IS BOTH COST-EFFECTIVE AND ESSENTIAL FOR LIBRARIES AND THE RESEARCH COMMUNITY. THROUGH THE SUPPORT OF OUR MEMBERS AND OUR ELECTED BOARD OF DIRECTORS, LLMC WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE FORWARD IN ITS MISSION TO PRESERVE THESE CRITICALLY IMPORTANT MATERIALS.
