The GSMI 2024 program enrolled 100 students into the 9-month mentorship program to provide them mentorship, resources, and financial support to assist them on their application process to graduate school programs in the sciences. Based on program survey responses, 75 out of 77 students ended up applying to graduate programs in the sciences and 47 out of 75 students that applied to graduate programs in the sciences will be matriculating to graduate school programs (Master's or PhD) in the sciences. We have given seven professional development webinars on the graduate school application process in 2024 and two professional development webinars in the second half of the program in 2025. In 2024, we have hosted three in-person gatherings in New York City, Boston, and Pittsburgh where our GSMI students build community with scientists in the program in addition to learning about how to navigate graduate school. We have awarded $21,480.40 in scholarships to cover the students' graduate school application costs. We had 7 GSMI scholars receive a national graduate school fellowship (NSF-GRFP) that supports three years of graduate studies and 10 GSMI scholars were given an honorable mention for this award.

The GSEC 2024 program enrolled 93 students into the 10-month mentorship program that provides them mentorship, professional development, and community to support them in the first-year of graduate school. In 2024, we have awarded 34 first-year graduate students with $42,500 in scholarships to cover educational expenses in their first year of graduate school. In 2024, we have provided three professional development webinars on navigating the first-year of graduate school, choosing research laboratories, applying to fellowships, and developing time management skills. In 2025, there were four professional development webinars in the second half of the program. In the first half of the program in 2024, there were three virtual community socials on building community with scientists and creating a space to discuss challenges in the first-year of graduate school. In the second half of the program in 2025, there were three virtual community socials.
