BVMSO- BLACKSTONE VALLEY MUSIC STUDENT ORCHESTRA WAS CREATED IN 2025 WITH THE HELP OF DONATIONS FROM A FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN. EQUIPMENT SUCH AS STANDS WERE PURCHASED AS WELL AS NEW CHAIRS TO PROVIDE NEEDED RESOURCES FOR BOTH THE ORCHESTRA AND THE AUDIENCE. THE NEW SEATING DIRECTLY BENEFITS ALL IN STORE EVENTS SUCH AS OUR MONTHLY COFFEEHOUSE. FUNDS WERE ALSO USED TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE LOBBY SO IT WOULD FEEL MORE LIKE A PERFORMANCE SPACE SUCH AS A NEW CURTAIN, NEW PAINT, FRAMES, ETC. THE FUNDING EXCEEDED OUR GOAL WHICH ALLOWED FOR COVERING THE PAYROLL COST OF TWO STAFF TO RUN THE PROGRAM FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR OF 2025 AND FOR IT TO BE A FREE PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN LESSONS AT BLACKSTONE VALLEY MUSIC.

ROCK BAND CAMP - THIS GROUP PROGRAM IS GEARED TOWARDS CHILDREN AGES 10-18 WITH SOME PROFICIENCY ON THEIR INSTRUMENT. STUDENTS SELECT SONGS AND TWO INSTRUCTORS HELP FACILITATE WHAT IS NEEDED TO LEARN THE MUSIC AND PERFORM THE SONGS AS A GROUP AT THE END OF THEIR CAMP IN A FORMAL CONCERT FOR FAMILY, FRIENDS AND THE COMMUNITY. THIS PROGRAM ALLOWS HOME SCHOOL, PRIVATE SCHOOL AND PUBLIC SCHOOL CHILDREN A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO COLLABORATE TOGETHER. SOME OF THE GROUPS DO CONTINUE ON THEIR OWN TO LEARN AND PERFORM MUSIC TOGETHER AT THE COMMUNITY COFFEEHOUSE AND OTHER COMMUNITY OPEN MIKES AND LOCAL EVENTS UTILIZING THE SKILLS THEY OBTAINED DURING THEIR TIME AT ROCK BAND CAMP. THE REVENUE ALLOWS FOR THE INSTRUCTORS TO BE PAID AND FOR THE REMAINING OVERHEAD COSTS OF THE USE OF BLACKSTONE VALLEY MUSIC (RENT, UTILITIES, ETC) TO BE COVERED.
