Naturewise Columbus publishes Ribbit! Magazine, a free children's magazine focused on nature, science and environmental education in the Columbus, Ohio area. The magazine features locally relevant content that helps children explore and understand the natural environment in their own community. Each quarterly issue includes educational articles, activities and stories developed with local environmental professionals, educators and community partners. Topics include wildlife, ecosystems, sustainability and seasonal changes in the local environment. Magazines are distributed free of charge to schools, libraries, community and recreation centers and Metro Parks nature centers. Classroom sets are provided to educators to support instruction and student engagement. Content is also designed to support both science learning and literacy development. Through this program, Naturewise Columbus expands access to environmental education, supports classroom learning and encourages children to build a connection with the natural world around them.
