Park City Operas inaugural mainstage production, Rossinis "The Barber of Seville," was a resounding success. All three performances of "The Barber of Seville" were completely sold-out (700+ total attendees), and all who wanted to attend were able to due in part to the 155 free tickets that were made available to Park City Library patrons to the show in Santy Auditorium. Demand was so high that these were fully reserved two weeks before the performance. Discounted student, senior, and military tickets were also available. In total, 35 singers, instrumentalists, directors, conductors, theater technicians, and others were hired in help bring this production to life. "The Barber of Seville" was the first full operatic production in Park City in over 20 years, and the reception from the community indicates that opera will have a home in Park City for years to come. While Summit County has a flourishing arts scene, it is underserved in terms of classical music, especially vocal classical music. The closest professional opera companies active in the summer are hours away, so Park City Operas summer production represents a unique, local musical opportunity.

Park City Opera's Concert Series programming includes performances, recitals, lectures and other events hosted in a variety of venues and is specifically designed for our community, providing an important and desired cultural experience to audiences while also supporting the local economy by attracting visitors and engaging local artists. For audiences, we are diversifying the cultural landscape of our community in collaboration with existing organizations like the Gallery Association, Mountain Town Music, and the Park City Library. For local businesses, we are inviting a new constituency of visitors to Park City: classical music-lovers who travel to see their favorite singers or operas live. For artists, we are creating positive performance opportunities where there previously were none. From November 2024 to October 2025, we produced 20 Concert Series events, the majority of which were free and open to the public. We believed we reached close to 1500 audience members through this program and created dozens of opportunities for singers and instrumentalists.
