LAND AND SEA FOR ALL developed three impact-focused documentary film projects in 2024, our first year as a charitable organization. We worked with our nonexclusive production services partner, Unparalleled Productions, and impact partners to begin writing, producing, and filming CULTURAL FLOW [WT] and ROCK PLASTIC SALMON [original working title, FISHING PEOPLE].CULTURAL FLOW is a multi-year program focused on elevating indigenous led co-management of a critical delta habitat in central Canada. Through the project, we're partnering with the Indigenous groups and individuals directly connected to the issues at stake to help tell their stories and realize regenerative projects that involve developing educational guardian programs for youth and various other groups within the greater community. While filmmaking is still in progress, benefits of the storytelling process and growing impact campaign are already showing positive signs of progress with clearer results coming as the program progresses.ROCK PLASTIC SALMON elevates the stories of individuals and rural communities on the South Coast of Newfoundland working tirelessly for two decades to establish a conservation economy and marine conservation area in the face of the forces of a multi-billion-dollar extractive salmon farm industry. It was filmed in 2024 and completed in 2025 and features Chief Elaine Ingram, Burgeo Band First Nations, Dr. Barbara Barter, and Melvin Jackman, retired machine operator and citizen activist. The results of the impact campaign will be better understood over the course of 2025. LOVE LETTER TO THE UNSEEN is our third program and film project begun in 2024. In this project we follow a youth conservationist on his journey to understand the plight of the endangered Maugean skate and the people fighting to protect it, including aboriginal leaders and artists. We secured funding to fully initiate film in December of 2024. The project will be fully realized in 2025, at which time we'll better understand the metrics for its positive impacts on the issues at stake.
