The Twelve Foundation was established March 12, 2024 with the goal to open a residential substance use treatment center for pregnant and newly parenting women. During 2024, our partner Restoration Housing purchased a home and renovated it to house up to 16 women with their children. It received its Certificate of Occupancy in March 2025. They will be the landlord for The Twelve Foundation at a nominal rent rate going forward. We then furnished the house and it received its licensure by the Commonwealth of Virginia to be a residential treatment center for pregnant and parenting women in April 2025. We then accepted our first pregnant women with substance use disorder in May 2025 and are now accepting new residents until we reach our maximum of sixteen. We are excited to offer this service to the residents of our community and beyond.
