Our primary function is to hold peer support meetings throughout communities in Minnesota. We currently offer 9 in-person meetings across the state and one online group. Parents work with TFF- trained parent facilitators, gaining support and tools so that they can create a safe, trans-positive home. Teens spend time in group together, led by a paid trans young adult facilitator, building community and learning from each other. TFF is proud of our ongoing service to families with trans youth. TFF also holds a yearly celebration called Day of the Transgender Child. The event has several goals, including celebrating our trans children with a community gathering, bringing resources together to share services offered for the queer community, and highlighting trans artists and community leaders in performances and speeches. We will celebrate our 10 annual event in 2026. TFF engages in ad-hoc activities under the following umbrellas: * Community awareness and training, often in conjunction with partner organizations * Advocacy for trans youth in schools, camps, and other community spaces * Peer assistance through one-on-one meetings with parents and other youth supporters * Collaborative work with other queer-centered organizations*. TFF holds several yearly fundraising events, including: * Craft fair and makers' market - where we sell craft items donated by the community * Restaurant and brewery partnerships - donations of a portion of the entity's profits for a * day Annual Gala Evening: profits from ticket sales, auction, and straight donations*.
