IN 2019, LAND COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS 'HANGING MOUNTAIN' WAS AQUIRED BY THE ORGANIZATION. THIS AQUISITION PRESERVES AND PROTECTS AND SUPPORTS PUBLIC ACCESS TO A UNIQUE GEOLOGICAL FORMATION WELL SUITED FOR CLIMBING. IN 2020, WMCC INCREASED ACCESS TO THE SITE BY INSTALLING A DRIVEWAY AND ESTABLISHING HIKING TRAILS. THEY ALSO WORKED WITH A BIOLOGIST TO SURVEY PROTECTED PLANT SPECIES ON THE PROPERTY, AND COMPLY WITH STATE REQUIREMENTS. IN 2021, WMCC OPENED HANGING MOUNTAIN TO THE PUBLIC AFTER APPROVAL FROM THE STATE FOR COMPLIANCE WITH ALL REQUIREMENTS.
